The Tree and Me

Not much difference between you and I

Branches bare

Extended to the sky

Feeling the leaves falling

Insanity calling

And our heads remain high

We’re not different, you and I

Our roots extended beyond our view

And we are judged by where we were planted

Not by what we do

We bare fruits that offend the palate of few

But oh they don’t know the healing that we can brew

Your Awakening

You scream out and they forget why

You awake and start to cry

-Oh this earth, I longed to view

Oh this earth, has room for but a few

And I was chosen

And after the choice

I was frozen

For hearing my new voice

So let me scream a moment or two

For soon I’ll forget what I came to do

Do you remember your purpose?

Your Secret

You don’t remember falling

But you must’ve fallen… reasons why you were born crying

You forget what you’ve forgotten

You think they’ll think you’re insane

When you deny your new name

So you shut out what you remember

A haze of a spirit entering a body

Energizing this entity

Your secret is safe

Even you can no longer tell

The truth from the myth

Colored glasses

He knew what was wrong but could not be corrected

He looked at the mirror and hated what it reflected

Images no longer compelling

A stranger in the same old setting

He wanted to die just to start again

Then he slept and woke up a different man

Glasses with no prescription

Changed his perception

His eyes fooled him you see

They kept him from being free

All he needed were colored glasses made by his daughter

Saying happy new year to the best father
