Alien Hopes

I was hoping for an alien invasion

Maybe then

The question of

“Where are you from? “

Could be easier answered

And I could say

“Earth”

And no one would follow with

“But where were you born”

I was hoping for an alien invasion

So I could no longer be called an alien

Such as my luck

No alien cared to make my hopes true

And I still look at you

Unable to speak

The language I grew up

Speaking

Starvation

Don’t cry

For the children

Starving

For you are too

Starved

Out of war emerged a Phoenix

Out of boredom of watching T.V.

You learned to look outside

Not knowing who you are

I AM HERE

Cries your ghost

But you change the channel

Then try to find inspiration

At an empty bar

Don’t cry for starving children

Cry for those

Not knowing they are starved

Imagine| Short Poem

I know this is a Black and White battle

And Brown is not in between

Maybe it is a color that your lens has not seen

But imagine for a moment or two

That it was you

Imagine being born to such a bad circumstance

That being caught in a boarder provides a better chance

Have you earned that ground you call home?

Or were you, just like them, just born?
