Shadows to a light I can’t find
The soldier standing
I stood behind
A metal door
Bullet holes in the wall
Of my grandma’s house
Simpler time
When I wished I knew
How to say hello
Without getting shot

Powerful and worthwhile poetry. I served in three combat zones and I went to Africa on two food, water and medicine missions. I cannot forget the faces. I believe the people of war. Had learn to accept war and they were trying to survive. I will buy a gift card. I would love to own your book.
